WOOD
Respect and gratitude for that generous provider: nature. She gives us the wood needed to produce the ideal Gardival® creation. Our specialists select only the most suitable growth areas, where slowgrowing, northern varieties of pine are found. These properties guarantee outstanding strength and stability in the wood. Wood is and remains a living material. That makes it an interesting and fascinating material to work. Changes in the weather conditions cause it to shrink and expand. The cracks and splits which occur so spontaneously, but which do not affect the quality of the wood, give Gardival® products their natural charm.
QUALITY
Pressure treatment
No maintenance, no fungus, no rotting for at least 10 years. Our years of experience with this process guarantee years of enjoyment from your Gardival® product. If the greenish colour of the wood turns to grey over time (this does not reduce the quality), it can be touched up or stained. If you opt for a non-treated finish, your local specialist can advise on the correct treatment to protect the wood.
Doors and windows
All doors and windows are enclosed in a tailor-made and easily installed frame (except the Vintage line). Windows for the Classic, Modern, Mono and Versailles lines, as well as carports, have single glazing, with original cross bars to divide the window into smaller panels. The Morzine and Firenze lines also use single glazing but without cross bars. The exterior joinery in the Prestige line uses tropical hardwood and double-glazing. The interior doors in the Prestige weekend line are finished on both sides in Nordic pine boards. Most doors have decorative black fittings. The choice of windows and doors offers a wide range of personalisation options for your log cabin.
Floors
All Gardival® floors are pressure-treated. Wooden floors (16 mm boards) are constructed in several sections and are easy to install. Only the Morzine line floor comes as a kit.
